Why Ideal Weight is a Zone, Not a Pinpoint
If you visit a standard clinic, you might be told your “ideal weight” is exactly 62 kg based on an outdated insurance table. The truth is, two individuals of the exact same height can both be perfectly healthy at 60 kg and 70 kg. The difference lies in bone density, frame size, and most importantly, muscle mass.
The Asian-Indian Factor
Standard guidelines can heavily underestimate risk for South Asians. Indians typically carry higher visceral fat and lower muscle mass at the same body weight as Western populations. This means the onset of insulin resistance and cardiovascular issues can happen at lower weights, which is why we strictly use the Asian-Indian BMI cut-offs for a more honest assessment.
Stop Chasing the Scale
The scale only measures gravity, not your health. A well-muscled athlete will often show up as overweight on standard charts. We strongly advise moving your focus away from the scale and toward tracking waist circumference, workout performance, energy stability, and how your clothes fit. Body recomposition is the ultimate goal.
